CIC About Classic Sailing Community Interest Company

CIC – Classic Sailing Community Interest Company – Support

Temporary page

Classic Sailing CIC exists to widen access to traditional sailing, preserve maritime skills and support the future of traditional vessels through practical community benefit.

There are several ways to support the work of the CIC. Some are intended for individuals, while others are designed for organisations. They each have a different purpose and should not be confused.

Public Membership

For individuals

Public Membership is for people who wish to support the aims of Classic Sailing CIC.

Members become part of a growing community with an interest in traditional sailing, maritime heritage and helping others gain access to experiences that may otherwise be beyond their reach.

Details of membership benefits, subscriptions and how to join will be published when the scheme is launched.

Donations

For individuals and organisations

Donations help support the charitable activities of Classic Sailing CIC, including bursaries, community sailing opportunities and projects that widen access to traditional sailing.

Information about making one-off or regular donations will be published here.

Volunteering

For individuals

Volunteers may be able to assist with events, administration, community projects, fundraising and other activities that support the work of the CIC.

Volunteer opportunities will be listed as they become available.

Business Partners

For organisations

The Business Partners of Classic Sailing CIC scheme is designed for organisations that wish to build a long-term relationship with the CIC.

Business Partners may support the CIC financially, through practical assistance or by contributing specialist knowledge that benefits the wider sailing community. Many will also contribute educational articles and practical guidance that become permanent resources on the Classic Sailing website.

Business Partnership is entirely separate from Public Membership.

The first organisations joining the scheme before the published deadline may be recognised permanently as Founding Business Partners of Classic Sailing CIC. This is a special recognition within the Business Partners scheme and is not the name of the scheme itself.

Which option is right for you?

If you are an individual, please explore Public Membership, Donations or Volunteering.

If you are an organisation, please see Business Partners of Classic Sailing CIC.

Each scheme has been created for a different purpose, ensuring that individuals and organisations can support Classic Sailing CIC in the way that best reflects their interests and involvement.
