CIC About Classic Sailing Community Interest Company

CIC – Classic Sailing Community Interest Company – Public Membership, Donations and Volunteering

Classic Sailing CIC has been established to widen access to traditional sailing, preserve maritime skills and create opportunities for more people to experience life under sail.

There are several ways to support the work of the CIC. Whether you wish to become involved personally, contribute financially or give your time, every form of support helps the CIC develop its community activities and bursary programme.

This page provides an overview of the opportunities that will become available as the CIC develops.

Public Membership

For individuals

Public Membership will allow individuals to become part of the Classic Sailing CIC community and support its long-term aims.

Members will receive information about the CIC’s activities, projects and opportunities to become involved. They will also be invited to take part in appropriate consultations and other aspects of the CIC’s development.

Full details of the membership scheme, including how to join, will be published when the programme is launched.

Donations

For individuals and organisations

Donations help support the public benefit work of Classic Sailing CIC.

Funds may be used to support bursaries, community sailing opportunities, educational projects, events and other activities that further the CIC’s objectives.

Information about making one-off or regular donations will be published here.

Volunteering

For individuals

As the CIC develops, there will be opportunities for volunteers to contribute their skills and experience.

Volunteer roles may include helping at events, supporting community sailing activities, administration, fundraising, photography, writing, research and other practical projects.

Current volunteering opportunities will be listed as they become available.

Looking Ahead

Classic Sailing CIC is at the beginning of its journey and these opportunities will continue to develop over time.
