The Classic Sailing Bursary Scheme is growing.
Fundraising for the Classic Sailing Bursary Scheme is underway, and a substantial amount has already been raised.
We are now completing the application forms, assessment process and supporting documents needed to run the scheme properly.
Therefore, bursary applications are not yet open. Please do not send a voyage booking form or bursary request at this stage.
We expect to announce the application process shortly. This page will be updated when applications open.
Part Funding Only
Bursary awards will always be part-funding. Our standard award will be 50% of the voyage fee, but we will consider applications for up to 90%. It is incredibly important that the individual makes some contribution to the trip as a sign of commitment. Advice on individual fundraising will be available to help people meet this requirement.
Successful applicants will join their voyage in the same way as any other Classic Sailing customer, and will not be singled out as having received financial support. We would only publicly disclose the details of a bursary-supported individual with their express consent.
Full details of our Bursary Award process will be published at the launch of the scheme.
All bursary applications will undergo a comprehensive vetting process before being presented to the Review Panel. Personal information will be handled in accordance with data protection requirements, allowing panel members to make informed, fair and impartial recommendations.
This page will become the main source of information for the bursary programme. It will include application guidance, funding announcements, award decisions, recipient stories and annual reports showing how bursary funding has been allocated and the difference it has made.

Regular giving is the gold standard for supporting the Bursary Fund. It gives us dependable income and helps us plan future bursary awards responsibly.
Small but regular.
A smaller monthly contribution maintained over time is more useful than a larger contribution that soon ends.
Set your own contribution from just £3 a month (Less than a £ a week)
There are some small Benefits but realistically they can not be financial.
