Long Weekends

Make a slightly longer adventure of 2 or 3 nights and sail by day. Reach along the coast East or West whichever is best. (The skipper will decide based on the winds, tides and weather.)

Longer Short Breaks

Torbay Airshow

You get the best views of the Airshow out on the water in Torbay.

Torbay provides a great natural amphitheatre for the spectacular English Riviera Air Show.  It’s also a superb area of sheltered water for sailing and  Lyme Bay and Start Bay are adjacent so there’s plenty of cruising options.

The Air Show takes place on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons and that provides scope for us to sail off for a day or so and visit local anchorages or visit the historic port of Dartmouth.

Discover Cornwall and join the Falmouth Classics

The ever popular Falmouth Classics & Shanty Festival cruise is one of the highlights of Pilgrim’s sailing season. You get everything that is great about ‘the Classics’ with the opportunity to explore the Fal Estuary and the south coast of Cornwall.

There is only room for 10 passengers on this 4 day 3 night extravaganza out of Falmouth. It’s a fabulous way to have that special holiday break in Cornwall that all your friends will envy.

The Isles of Scilly on Pilgrim

Pilgrim has the longest voyages to the isles of Scilly to give you much more time to explore the five inhabited islands.

These voyages, which are all near Midsummer, are a beautiful time of year to visit the Isles of Scilly. The seabirds are breeding, puffins and shearwaters can be spotted and Western Grey seals haul out on the granite reefs.

Pilgrim is a 1895 deep-sea sailing trawler that has been virtually rebuilt so she makes a capable sailing ship to sail out to these archipelagos on the edge of the Atlantic. There are anchorages deep enough for Pilgrim near Tresco, Bryher, St Marys and perhaps some uninhabited islands.

Paimpol Chant de Marine

An amazing experience for musicians and traditional music lovers, artists and photographers. You need to be a keen enough sailor to enjoy two Channel crossings, there and back, plus sailing from the corner of the North Coast to Paimpol.

With 11 nights aboard there should be time for a little bit of coastal exploring in Brittany or the Channel Isles either before the Festival or on the way back.

Once you are in Paimpol Festival for a few days It is an amazing festival atmosphere, and music happens everywhere.

Alderney and Normandy Summer Holiday

Pilgrim’s Alderney and Normandy Summer Holiday is back after a brilliant first run in 2022.

Setting sail for Alderney, the northernmost of the Channel Islands for a couple of days to explore and then onto Normandy.

Alderney is a delightful island with pristine beaches and there’s lots to explore and see.

Then we set sail for the short hop to Cherbourg in France for a stopover in the vibrant city centre before moving on to Ouistreham and Caen.

It is 79 years since many brave souls set off from Brixham to Normandy in landing craft as part of the D-Day invasion fleet. The American 4th Infantry Division sailed from Breakwater Beach bound for Utah Beach on 4th June 1944. In 2023 Pilgrim will be charting a similar course.
