Nome is a coastal Bering Sea Community located on the north western coast of Alaska, south of the Arctic Circle. Nome is about 540 miles from Anchorage, 160 miles from Russian and 102 miles south of the Arctic Circle.

Nome is not located on the Alaska Highway system, and other than flying can only be reached via water or by snowmobile/dogsled trails.

With a population of 3,653 the town and has a variety of places to visit from a Museum to a theatre.
