Bounty’s End is the perfect boat for affordable private charter. Combine great sailing in Plymouth Sound with nights under canvas, and enjoy getting to know a boat with an unbeatable origin story.
Sailing is a fantastic adventurous outdoor getaway if you’ve got a group keen to spend some time together. Get everyone off their phones and doing something practical, working as a team and (literally) pulling together!
No experience is necessary as Bounty’s skipper will teach you all how to get involved sailing the boat.
Bounty’s End can take groups of up to 8. All sailors must be 8 years old or over, but there is no upper age limit, as long as everyone in the party is physically active. Please note you must all be able to swim 50m to join a Bounty trip.

You can charter Bounty’s End for anything from a daysail to an adventure over 3 days or more!
You’ll join the boat at the Bounty Project HQ, right on the South West Coast Path on the Mount Batten peninsula. This is one of the gateways to the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, a haven for wildlife, heritage and water sports. There’s plenty of parking here, plus easy public transport connections (the number 2 bus links you directly with Plymouth train station, or you can hop on the foot ferry from the Barbican).
Where you go next is up to you! If you’d like to explore the beautiful and historically fascinating Plymouth Sound, there is so much to see you can easily spend as many days as you wish here, nudging up the estuaries, anchoring off beaches, visiting Royal William Yard, Drake’s Island, Mount Edgcumbe and more. As evenings draw in, there are beautiful spots to wild-camp, or you can sail back to the Cattewater and enjoy the luxury of glamping with all the home comforts of proper beds and luxury showers!
Keen to venture further afield? Create a more adventurous round trip, voyaging out of Plymouth Sound and along the coast… West to Looe and Fowey, or East to Salcombe, wild camping en route.

Bounty’s End will provide tents, cooking equipment and the makings of delicious meals, plus the local knowledge of the most beautiful secluded spots to set up camp. All you’ll need to bring is a sleeping bag, roll mat and some stories for round the campfire.

Radford Quarry, a hidden limestone hollow just off the Cattewater, closed in the 1960s and has since become a haven for wildlife. Recently saved from development, the quarry is now being carefully managed to protect and expand its biodiversity, and this work is supported by the income from a few well-spaced teepees and bell tents, offering luxury glamping in a stunning setting.

Sailing a lovely boat like Bounty’s End is glorious enough in itself, but if you’re keen on mixing in some other activities too, sailing can offer a fantastic way to reach more secluded places. Some ideas for multi-activity holidays below, but if you have other ideas of your own we’d be very happy to discuss them with you.
Sail to the most serene and secluded swimming spots and dive in off the boat. You’ll soon warm up again with a bit of rowing afterwards, or perhaps a beach bonfire! Some favourite spots include Drake’s Island, Barn Pool, Firestone Bay, Cawsand Bay, Breakwater Fort and Penlee Point.

The Bounty crew team up with partners Survival Wisdom to offer nights wild camping at Mount Edgcumbe National Park, with an evening of survival skills training, including catching, preparing and cooking fish over fire, foraging, fire and camp building. This is the perfect addition to a sailing adventure, and you’ll have plenty to talk about around the campfire!

Plymouth is a city built on its connection to the sea, and has been a critical hub of naval and merchant marine activity for centuries. Explore some of the sites by boat, and learn about why this stretch of water is quite so important to the UK’s maritime history. There are countless places to visit, but some highlights include the Royal William Yard, the Barbican, the Mayflower Steps, Bovisand and Breakwater Forts and the smuggling history of Cawsand!
