Announcing New Voyages

Wild Swimming from Johanna Lucretia & Moosk in 2023

Sailing from Plymouth Yacht Haven, transport plans are easy, and you have the whole of historic Plymouth Sound to explore (and beyond!).

In 2023, you can choose a fantastic taster day sail aboard Moosk, or a longer swim-focused holiday on Johanna Lucretia.

Day Sails on Moosk

1906 Gaff Yawl ‘Moosk’ is a beautiful and friendly gaff yawl. She’s more frequently to be seen sailing up and down the coast with a clutch of RYA students aboard, soaking it all up ready for their Day Skipper or Yachtmaster exams. These wild-swimming day sails promise to be much more relaxing! A unique perspective on beautiful Plymouth Sound, and a fantastic day out. You can be as involved as you like with the ship’s manoeuvres, with opportunities for helming and sail handling, and no experience necessary.

Moosk will have a Swim Guide and Lifeguard on board, who will work with the skipper to find the best swimming spot given the conditions. A refreshing guided sea swim will be followed by a lovely hot lunch, before some more cracking sailing as you return to Plymouth.

5 Night Cruise on Johanna Lucretia

In the five days, you sail extensively and discover the delights of historic harbours and ports like Dartmouth, Fowey and Falmouth plus lots of smaller ports like Salcombe and Looe. Where you go all depends on the weather, that is a big part of the adventure.

As an added bonus on this voyage, Johanna will be carrying a lifeguard-trained Swim Guide, who will help you to safely make the most of the numerous opportunities for sea swimming.

Think secluded beaches, hard to reach coves and jumping off the ship at anchor. The long June evenings will provide plenty of chances for a dip before dinner. The Skipper will plan the itinerary for the trip to maximise not just fantastic sailing but also finding beautiful and sheltered waters for swimming.
