Brest and Douarnenez Festivals

Brittany – Brest International Festival of the Sea and Douarnenez (DZ) Festival

The combination of these two events makes for the most amazing traditional boat and tall ship happening in any year. Sometimes you can do them all in one voyage and return to the UK and on others they are split between a voyage to Brest and a voyage to DZ and then back to the UK.

The Armada

It’s a good length day sail from brest to DZ and as you set off the fleet grows around you. Some of the slower ones have set of earlier, the faster ones will keep pop up behind you and waving hapily as they pass you. It’s not a race, it’s a spectacle and everyone loves it.
